Illuminate Message Series

Our world is plagued by darkness. Everywhere we turn there is struggle, pain and destruction. That darkness is created by sin. Over and over in scripture we see “at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:8) Jesus came to be the light of the world. He came to light up the dark places and bring us into the light. When He returned to heaven He left us as beacons of light in the darkness, to illuminate the world. He sent us “to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith” (Acts 26:18) The problem with our world is not the darkness, it’s the lack of light. All to often we keep our light hidden. We are afraid of what people will think or say if we shine the Christ in their darkness. It’s time we push back the darkness and illuminate the world around us!
